With the general provision "Identification of the simplified procedures for the information and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies" (published in the Official Journal n. 126 of 3 June 2014), the Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data has identified methods simplified to provide users with the online information on the use of cookies and has provided indications to acquire consent, when required by law.
To protect users' privacy and allow them to make more informed choices, the Guarantor has therefore established that, when accessing the home page or another page of a website, a clearly visible wording must immediately appear, indicating:
that the site uses profiling cookies to send targeted advertising messages (if used);
that the site also allows the sending of "third party" cookies, ie cookies installed by a different site through the site you are visiting (if used);
a link to a wider information, with indications on the use of cookies sent by the site, where it must also be indicated how to disable the acceptance of cookies by the browser used;
an indication that by continuing to browse (e.g. by accessing another area of the site or selecting an image or a link) you consent to the use of cookies.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that the visited sites send to the user's terminal (computer, tablet, smartphone, notebook), where they are stored, and then retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit.
They are used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring and information storage on sites (without the use of "technical" cookies some operations would be very complex or impossible to perform). But through cookies you can also monitor navigation, collect data on tastes, habits, personal choices that allow the reconstruction of detailed consumer profiles.
Technical cookies essential for the website to function
This website uses session and persistent cookies, in order to offer a more efficient service to users. The use of these cookies is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to allow us to provide the services and functions of the website in a complete way.
The cookies used on the website avoid the use of other IT techniques that are potentially detrimental to the confidentiality of user navigation and do not allow the acquisition of directly identifying user data. Interested parties who do not wish to keep these cookies can delete them after browsing simply by going to the privacy settings of their navigation browser and selecting the option to delete cookies.
As indicated by the Guarantor, technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or by the user to provide this service "; always the Guarantor indicates that "for the installation of these cookies the prior consent of the users is not required".
Cookies used for aggregate analysis of website visits
This website makes use of aggregate navigation data analysis tools that allow you to improve the website. In particular, Google Analytics, a system made available by Google Inc., uses cookies that are stored on the user's computer in order to allow the website operator to analyze how users use the site.
The information generated on the use of the site by the user will be transmitted and stored on Google's servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating the use of the website by the user, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to the activity of the same site.

A notable example is the presence of "social plugins" for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn.
